Dolly Parton has written more than 4,000 songs and has been rewarded with numerous Grammy, ACM and CMA statues. Additionally, the singer's home is filled with multiple gold and platinum albums. Always a philanthropist, Parton began the Dollywood Foundation in 1988 to inspire children from her home state to learn, dream and care. In recent years, the foundation has joined forces with local sponsors to provide books to needy children.  The Queen of Country Music will soon be arriving in Australia for her -œBetter Day- tour. Parton will begin her tour on November 8th in Perth at the Burswood Dome and will finish up in Victoria on December 1st at the Rod Laver Arena. 

 Parton has explained that her latest tour and 41st album were released to bring happiness to people struggling through difficult times and thus her new venture is aptly named. The performer recently said -œAs an artist and songwriter, you try to think about what your audience would like to hear. Things are so glum lately with the economy and all of the recent storms and the doomsday talk. I thought, -˜I don't have the heart to write any sad songs.' So I wrote some uplifting songs with a ray of hope and a bit of promise.- 

 While on tour, the country music legend will be performing hits that include -œJolene,- -œ9 To 5- and the original version of -œI Will Always Love You.- Dolly Parton is ever the entertainer and will be delighting Australian fans with fancy costumes, new sets and new music from her recently released -œBetter Day- album.
